WHO WE ARE

TWL also known as Tire World Ltd, was established in 2015 with the exclusive purpose of concentrating on the tire business of the GUDKA GROUP, and extending its presence throughout the entirety of East Africa, which has consistently been a primary area of focus for the GUDKA GROUP.

Gudka Westend Motors Limited was formed in 1978 in a small town of Kenya called Kisii. The Group’s primary activities is to supply and distribute automotive parts and tyres in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania. In 1984, the group opened its second branch in Nairobi, Capital City of Kenya. As the company expanded its wings, it also diversified its portfolio into Agriculture machinery, real estate and farming.

Gudka Westend Motors Ltd then changed to Gudka Group and formed separate companies within the group to manage the different portfolios.

OEM

Original equipment supply is at the heart of Maxxis corporate strategy. Developed initially in the Far East where core manufacturing was based, OE fit now encompasses all these brands.

Central to the marketing philosophy behind the Maxxis brand is a policy of developing close working relationships with original equipment manufacturers. In a totally integrated approach Maxxis has established top quality Research and Development centres in Asia, Unites States and Europe, which strive to continually improve product quality. Allied to this Maxxis has sought and successfully attained manufacturing quality standards which has resulted in Maxxis receiving quality awards from major manufacturers such as Ford, GM and Toyota to name but three.

Such devotion to the manufacturing process and the quality of its products in meeting its customer’s needs has seen Maxxis awarded original equipment contracts with OEM’s globally amongst these contracts Maxxis are:

  • Original Equipment supplier to Ford, GM, Toyota, Nissan, VW, Mitsubishi, Nissan and Hyundai in Asia. GM and Ford in the USA, and Peugeot CSA in Europe
  • OE supplier of Motorcycle tyres to Yamaha, Honda, Suzuki and Kawasaki
  • OE supplier of ATV tyres to Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki, Kawasaki, Polaris and KTM.
  • OE supplier of bicycle tyres to Cannondale, Giant, Merida, Yeti, Iron Horse, Kona and Orange.
  • OE supplier of supplier of scooter tyres to Yamaha, Suzuki, Aprilia, Malaguti, Piaggio, MBK, Gilera and Kymco
